WHAT & WHO: My Creative Connection is a platform that helps Black Creatives establish the connection between their personal development and their success in order to create the lives they envision for themselves.
Born in April 2015, MYCC hosts a monthly Twitter chat called #blkcreatives. These monthly online discussions revolve around a specific topic that relates to our personal development and growth as people and professionals.
Each chat features four special guests – here are November’s:

Although he was born and raised in Chicago, Justin Carey is not your “regular Chi-town dude”. With his gentle spirit and kind heart, Justin lives with the intention of brightening the day of the others around him and on social media. At 22, Justin is currently the youngest employee at Harpo Studios/OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. He is also the mastermind creator of HOPE JUNKIE apparel, a funky brand of affirmation t-shirts and sweatshirts. When he’s not working his “9-5”, Justin is usually busy growing his portfolio by providing social media assistance and graphic designs for clients with efforts to grow their networks. An artistic, energetic and spiritual person, Justin lives and breathes Philippians 4:13 with the belief “nothing is impossible”. Justin is a student both professionally (Columbia College Chicago) and of life always seeking to learn something new. He believes in the magic of dreams and the power of visions. Justin shares Oprah Winfrey’s mantra that “God can dream a bigger dream for us than we can dream for ourselves”. Learn more about Justin here. Follow him on Twitter. WHY: I (MYCC Founder Melissa Kimble) wanted to create a dialogue that got beyond the surface level of being a Creative and dig deeper into the finer details of how we can make ourselves better as individuals and professionals.
