TOPIC: The Art Of Promotion – What Are They, How To Recognize Them and How We Can Work Through Them
WHAT & WHO: My Creative Connection is a platform that helps Black Creatives establish the connection between their personal development and their success in order to create the lives they envision for themselves.
Born in April 2015, MYCC hosts a monthly Twitter chat called #blkcreatives. These monthly online discussions revolve around a specific topic that relates to our personal development and growth as people and professionals.

Chasity Cooper is a digital media strategist who specializes in online communications and brand strategy for non-profit and advocacy organizations. A self-proclaimed “Millennial On A Mission”, Chasity began her blog self-titled in September 2011 that has evolved to celebrate and support her generation — helping her peers identify ways to intersect their passions with their purpose. Jonathan Jackson is a writer, content strategist, and editor, based in New York City. He’s the Program Manager for Consumer Content at LinkedIn, where he co-manages the Influencer Program, and helps educate consumers,executives and members on the power of LinkedIn’s publishing platform. He is also part of Blavity’s founding team, a media startup focused on highlighting, empowering, and showcasing the genius of Black millennials, where he oversees Corporate Branding & Strategy. WHY: I (MYCC Founder Melissa Kimble) wanted to create a dialogue that got beyond the surface level of being a Creative and dig deeper into the finer details of how we can make ourselves better as individuals and professionals.
TIPS & TRICKS: – The hashtag for the night #blkcreatives. Use it in all of your responses and tweets to others. The host (@_MYCC) will ask a series of questions using Q1, Q2, etc and you will use A1, A2 to respond to the question.
Example: – Highlight and share who YOU are during the chat. Not what you think others will find “cool” “insightful” or trendy.
